    South America, Ural mountains (Russia), Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Southern Africa.

  • Appearance

    The very pale (almost colorless) green variety of beryl is not referred to as emerald, but simply as green beryl. Green beryl is not worth nearly as much as emerald. Green beryl is sometimes heat treated and turned into aquamarine.
